Biography

Leonardo Ambasciano served as a visiting lecturer at the Department for the Study of Religions, Masaryk University, Brno (Czech Republic) during Fall 2016. He earned his PhD in Historical Studies at the University of Turin (Italy) in 2014 with a cognitive and evolutionary reassessment of the ancient Roman female cult of Bona Dea. He has published extensively on method and theory in the study of religion, on ancient Roman religion, and on the history of the academic concept of shamanism. He currently serves as European editor of the "Journal of Cognitive Historiography" (https://journals.equinoxpub.com/index.php/JCH/index).
